Silverburn is a small hamlet near Penicuik, in the south of Midlothian about about 8 miles south of Edinburgh. It has a small population of just over 60.

The village has a small community centre. The garden surrounding the hall featured on the BBC Television programme The Beechgrove Garden in June 2008.
