The Cample Water at Kirkbog

The Cample Water is a minor river of Dumfriesshire, and a tributary of the River Nith. The river rises amongst the Lowther Hills, in a number of streams off the hills close to the border of Lanarkshire.

From the hills, the Cample flows south-southwestwards, forming a short, steep-sided valley known as the Cample Cleugh before emerging into the gentler meadows sloping down into Nithsdale.

The river meets the River Nith just south of Thornhill.
