The Kouris River rises in the Troodos Mountains of Cyprus and flows southward to enter the sea in Episkopi Bay, in the Western Sovereign Base Area of Akrotiri and Dhekelia.

Classically, the river was known as the Lycus. It flows past the spectacular site of the Roman city of Kourion, north of Akrotiri.

Like many of the rivers of Cyprus, the Kouris is fed by seasonal rainwater and its bed lies dry for much of the summer. The flow has been affected too by the vast Kouris Dam built in the mountains within the Republic of Cyprus.

The mouth of the river on Episkopi Bay is on the east side of the bay north of Akrotiri, at 34°38’45"N, 32°54’-0"E.
