Dhekelia or Dhekelia Cantonment is a military town on the northern shore of Larnaca Bay, a wide, sweeping bay in the south coast of Cyprus, the location of one of the two British military stations in the Eastern Sovereign Base Area (the other being Ayios Nikolaos), part of the territory of Akrotiri and Dhekelia.

The Cantonment provides a community of support for the servicemen, staff and their families; shops, banks, a post office and the ever-present NAAFI. It has several sporting and recreational facilities, in the town and with water sports on the coast.

Dhekelia Power Station stands on the coast here.

Dhekelia stands some 9 miles northeast of Larnaca and 12½ miles west of Ayia Napa, both towns in the Republic of Cyprus.

Three towns of the Republic of Cyprus exist as enclaves within the area, one on the coast and two entirely enveloped (Xlotymbo and Ormidhis).

Dhekelia Station

Dhekelia Station extends over some 2.7 square miles and is home to the Headquarters of the Eastern Sovereign Base Area, a Resident Infantry Battalion, an Engineer Squadron, and various Logistic Units, as well as UK-based civilians and dependents, making a total British population of just over 1,500 people. It is one of the major British bases in Cyprus.
