Adamstown is the only settlement of the Pitcairn Islands, and by default, the capital of the Islands.
The town is located on the central-north side of the island of Pitcairn, in front of the Pacific Ocean and close to the Bounty Bay, the only seaport of the island.
Adamstown has a population of 48, which constitutes the entire population of the Pitcairn Islands. It is on the only inhabited island in the Pitcairn Group and the only incorporated town in the country, making it the capital by default. This hamlet currently holds the record for being the smallest capital in the world, but it still has access to television, satellite internet, and a new, expensive telephone system. The main point of contact is still the ham radio.
The town is where most residents eat and sleep, while they mainly pick fruit and hunt for food at other areas of the island [1].
