The Rhinns of Kells form a group of hills within the Galloway Hills, in the very north of Kirkcudbrightshire. The Rhinns form a high ridge running from north to south from the edge of the county southwards to Clatteringshaws Loch, where the River Dee sweeps round under the foot of the hills. The highest point of the group is Corserine at 2,671 feet.

The highest mountain of the county, Merrick (2,766 feet) is a little to the west.

From north to south the hills start on:

• Black Craig (1,732 feet) on the east bank of Loch Doon, followed by
• Coran of Portmark (2,044 feet),
• Meaul (2,280 feet),
• Carlin's Cairn (2,648 feet),
• Corserine (2,671 feet),
• Millfire (2,349 feet),
• Milldown (2,421 feet),
• Meikle Millyea (2,448 feet),
• Little Millyea (1,896 feet) and
• Darrou (1,572 feet), which stands about halfway between Loch Dee and Clatteringshaws.

The Rhinns of Kells extend 9.6 miles as the crow flies from Black Craig to Darrou and the ridge has a double curve on it making it somewhat longer than that. It tends to be a gently undulating ridge along its length making for relatively easy walking.
