Witney, in the County of Oxfordshire is the 'capital' of West Oxfordshire.

Noted historically for the wool trade and subsequently for its Witney Blankets, traded far and wide, the town in now the focus or shopping and tourism in West Oxfordshire. Two of its latest 'claims to fame' include its local MP, the Rt Hon David Cameron, now Prime Minister and the status of having what is reputed to be the largest free multi-storey car park in Europe.
