Donegal

Donegal is a town in County Donegal. Its name is from Irish language, meaning "stronghold of the foreigners" (namely the Vikings). The town gave its name to County Donegal.

Donegal town sits at the mouth of the River Eske and Donegal Bay, which is overshadowed by the Bluestack Mountains. The centre of the town, known locally as the Diamond, is a hub for music, poetic and cultural gatherings in the area. (Read more)
