Guide Post is a village in eastern Northumberland, about 17 miles north of the county's great city, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Guide Post stands across the River Wansbeck from Ashington, along with Stakeford, and about halfway between Ashington and Morpeth. Choppington is to the south.

The village forms part of the civil parish of North Bedlington, and has a population of 9,350.

This is a mainly residential village. There are two pubs and a Social Club. It has several shops and three schools, and a successful football club - 'Guide Post Social Club Football Club'.
