Cheal Point marks the south-western end of Coronation Island amongst the South Orkney Islands in the British Antarctic Territory.

Following survey by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from Signy in 1950-51, the point was named after Joseph John Cheal (1922-1996), the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey general assistant, 1950-51, and Base Leader, 1951-52 at Signy, who surveyed the area; with South Georgia Survey in 1952, and the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition, 1956-57.
