Llangyniew (also Llangynyw) is a hamlet and an ancient parish in Montgomeryshire. It is located on a hill inside a bend in the River Banwy, approximately two miles north-east of Llanfair Caereinion. As well as Llangyniew itself, the parish also includes the townships of Cynhinfa, Gwenyno Isaf and Mathrafal, the latter of which gives its name to the Mathrafel Hundred in which the parish lies.
