Huccaby is a tiny hamlet on Dartmoor, in southern Devon, tucked in the valley of the West Dart River, just north-east of Hexworthy. There is a bridge on the West Dart here, crossing to Hexworthy.
The earliest documented reference to the place was in 1296 when it was called Woghebye, which appears to be from the Old English who and byge indicating 'crooked curve or bend', referring to the river here.

At the side of the hamlet's one lane is St Raphael's Church, a little chapel of ease within the parish of Holne, of which the parish church is St Mary the Virgin in Holne three and a half miles away. The church once served also as the village schoolhouse: for this reason each of the pews is set up also as a desk, each with an inkwell.
