Bird hide in the Ettrick Marshes

The Ettrick Marshes lie in the flood plains of the Ettrick Water in Selkirkshire. The marshes are an extensive wetland habitat.

From 1998 the marshes have been the subject of active conservation and restoration work. Some 74 acres of conifers were felled to restore the marshland, scrub and hay meadows.

The marshes provide a haven for a wide variety of wildlife. Duckboards have been placed in the marshes to aid visitors.
