Île Mapou is a very small coral island in the north of the Salomon Islands, an atoll of numerous islets in the north of the British Indian Ocean Territory. It lies on the rim of the atoll, on the south side of the sea passage into its lagoon.
Like most of the smaller Chagos Islands, it is named in French, having been first charted by the French before the archipelago passed to British rule during the Napoleonic Wars.
