The mountain rears up in the Brecon Beacons, in the midmost of the mountains, south of Brecon. The summit is found on a ridge stretching from Talybont Reservoir in the east, with subsidiary tops at Corn Du and Y Gyrn. To the east, the ridge drops steeply to the col connecting it to Cribyn, the next mountain along the ridge.
