This page is a work in progress by Yaxley 00:01, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

It is a very welcome work in progress. What we really need is 2011 figures, based on Census population figures, by aggregating postcode areas to match as closely as possible the counties. RB 18:16, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
I have now acquired the 2011 info for England and Wales split into local authorities, and am now sieving through it. Whilst my knowledge of the proper counties is decent, my knowledge of local authorities and the differences between the counties boundaries and the administrative boundaries (as I like to call them!) is not that great!
This is much needed though, if the traditional counties are to be used then information like this needs to be easily accessed. This may take me some time but I should be able to do a few counties every 3-7 days depending on how much time I have and the county in question.
I will also use this Talk page to write down how I have reached these figures. This is important for say the 2001 or 2021 censuses, and should also be useful to build up information regarding the small differences in county boundaries (traditional v administrative). It can also mean people can check my adding up! Even with a calculator you can make mistakes! So yes anything under the line below I would appreciate it if it were not altered at all by anyone!! Thanks Yaxley 00:43, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
