St Andrew's Footbridge is a wrought iron suspension bridge across the River Clyde in Glasgow, in Lanarkshire. It is 220 feet long and connects McNeil Street in Hutchesontown with Glasgow Green.
The bridge was built in 1854-1855 by the engineer Neil Robson to replace a ferry crossing, so as to enable workers from Bridgeton and Calton to reach factories in Hutchesontown.
The design incorporates supported by pairs of Corinthian columns, all in cast-iron, with a light lattice girder span supported by flat link chains.[1]
