Imray Bay indents the north coast of Coronation Island, amongst the South Orkney Islands in the British Antarctic Territory between Conception Point and Prong Point, west of Ommaney Bay.
The bay is named for James Imray (1803-1870), founder of James Imray and Son Ltd, publisher of an extensive list of charts and pilot books and forerunner of independent chart publishers Imray, Laurie, Norie and Wilson Ltd. The name was chosen in association with Findlay Point, Laurie Island and Purdy Point, each of which is named after a leading 19th centuryt compiler or publisher of charts and nautical directories.
