Beckley Furnace is a hamlet in the Wealden hills in the midst of Sussex, consisting of a few houses and barns in the tight, dip of the valley formed by a minor brook, just north-east of Broad Oak. Its parent village, Beckley, is two miles to the north.

This hamlet, as its name suggest, has its origin in the iron industry once prevalent in these hills.[1] Little now remains beyond the name of its largest house, Furnace House, and the Grade II listed barns in its grounds.[2]

An iron furnace was built in 1578 by the brook, which marks the creation of Beckley Furnace as a place. A watermill powered the bellows. Production ceased in 1770.[3]

Nearby is a pub, The Bird in Hand, also a Grade II listed building.[4]
