The Schmidt Hills stands between the Foundation Ice Stream (opening into the frozen Weddell Sea) and the Roderick Valley, forming part of the Neptune Range of the Pensacola Mountains in Queen Elizabeth Land in the British Antarctic Territory. Their highest point is 3,510 feet at the summit of Mount Nervo.

These hills were photographed from the air by the United States Navy and surveyed from the ground by the United States Geological Survey, 1963-64; they are named after Dwight L. Schmidt, the United States Geological Survey geologist in the Pensacola Mountains, 1962-63, 1963-64 and 1965-66.
