Paradise River in Montserrat was largely destroyed by a pyroclastic flow from the Soufrière Hills.
The river rose in the Soufrière Hills in the middle of the island, to flows north-eastward to join the Farm River close to the coast. The lava flow however filled the Paradise River's valley: such waters as still flow, work their way down to the sea on their own at the edge of the wide lava field at Spanish Point over which the Farm River is now forced to disperse its waters also.
