Hope Point is a rocky bluff, 65 feet high, which forms the north side of the entrance to King Edward Cove, on the west side of Cumberland East Bay, which indents the north-east coast of South Georgia.
The headland was charted by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition under Otto Nordenskiöld, 1901–04. It was later named for H. W. W. Hope, who directed a 1920 survey of King Edward Cove by personnel on HMS Dartmouth.
On Hope Point stands a monument in commemoration of Sir Ernest Shackleton.
