Chaplin Head is a headland on the north coast of South Georgia, between Undine Harbour and Schlieper Bay.
This was possibly the feature called Seehunds Landspitze ('Seal's point') on Klutschak's 1881 chart). It was properly charted by Discovery Investigations in 1926, on which occasion the hill above the cape was called 'Sharp Peak'. Following a survey by the South Georgia Survey, the headland was named 'Chaplin Head' after Lieutenant Commander John Miller Chaplin of the Royal Navy (1888-1977), survey officer in Discovery 1925-1927, and who was in charge of a hydrographic survey party in South Georgia in 1928-1930.
