Burley Wood

Burley Wood is to be found in the west of Devon, on the edge of Dartmoor a little to the north of Lydford.

The wood is the site of an Iron Age hill fort in. The fort occupies much of a hilltop some 722 feet above sea level overlooking the River Lew. The site also has a Norman motte-and-bailey earthwork just below it to the northeast at approx 705 feet above sea level.[1]
