Cwmdu is a hamlet in the mountains of Carmarthenshire, at a meeting of hillside lanes but on no main route nor close to any town. The nearest through road is the B4302, a mile away, that runs between distant Llanbydder and Llandeilo in the Towy Valley.

The hamlet has a pub and a chapel and a few houses and no more amongst the farmland.

The chapel is the Providence Baptist Chapel, a Grade II listed building, built in 1839, but replacing the earlier Providence Chapel built here in 1789.[1][2]

The streams which form the River Dulas pass through Cwmdu, uniting by the village to form the young river.
