Loch Benevean

Loch Benevean is a ribbon loch lying within Glen Affric in Inverness-shire. Over five miles long, it is the longest loch in the glen. At its top end, Loch Benevean is separated by a mile and a half of river and lake from Loch Affric.

The loch is hemmed in by wooded banks, the forests rising up until the wind-blasted mountainsides begin, and its waters are interrupted by a wooded peninsula and wooded islands.

A dam at the lower end of Loch Benevean supplies the gen’s hydroelectric generation scheme.
