Shingle Cove lies on the west side of Iceberg Bay, on the south coast of Coronation Island amongst the South Orkney Islands in the British Antarctic Territory.

The island was roughly charted by Discovery Investigations in 1933, at which time the name 'Useless Bay' was applied probably to this feature. It was surveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from Signy in 1948-49, and named 'Shingle Cove' from the fine shingle on the landing beach on its south shore. The cove was resurveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from Signy in 1956-58. In May 1962, a British Antarctic Survey refuge, known as 'Shingle Hut', was established on the beach.
