Restronguet Point
Restronguet Point is a small, narrow promontory which almost closes the mouth of Restronguet Creek as it enters the Carrick Roads in southern Cornwall. The name is also borne by the hamlet which fills this headland. It is to be found some three-quarters of a mile south of Feock, and three miles by boat north of Falmouth.
The name of the promentary is form the Conish Ros Trongoos, meaning "Headland of a wooded point".
Restronguet Point forms a distinct community of Feock Parish. It is mainly residential area with housing (mostly large detached properties) on both sides of the lane.
Location
The promontory is approximately 200 yards wide and 750 yards long, projecting southward between Restronguet Creek (to the west) and Carrick Roads (opening to the east). At the southern tip of the promontory (SW821366), the creek discharges into Carrick Roads through a narrow channel known locally as 'the gut'.
Restronguet Point is within the 'Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty', as is almost a third of the county.
