Upton is a small village in the north-west of Hampshire, some seven miles north of Andover with a population of approximately 250.
The River Swift, a winterbourne, runs through Upton and can flood between December and February, causing minor problems.
The local pub is The Crown Inn.
Until 1990 there was a Post Office but this has closed, although there is still a letter box in the wall of the building. Upton also still boasts an original Gilbert Scott-designed telephone box in the middle of the village. Until 1944 there was a small village school, but this closed down due to the lack of pupils.
