Summary

Description
English: View of the North Sea through the Dee Valley from Normandykes This view is across the broad ridge where the ancient Normandykes Roman Camp was situated. The foreground is a juncus ("Juncus effusus") dominated area where the camp itself would have been laid out. A view of the North Sea was vital to the Romans so that they could use signal communications with the roman fleet from the camp site.
