Summary

Description
English: The Collyweston Slater — in Collyweston, northeastern Northamptonshire.
  • Originally a 17th century coaching inn, extended to include adjoining cottages.
  • The name refers to the village's importance as a centre for producing Collyweston slate roofs material — roofing slates from the easily cleaved local Jurassic limestone. Very durable, and still popular for traditional stone buildings.
