Summary

Description
English: Loughcrew Passage Tomb: At the end of the passage you see one of three chambers, the largest one with extensive symbolic carvings from stone age people. This monument is around six thousand years old. The photograph was taken by myself standing under the stone et inner dome, with a flashlight and in awe of this civilisation lone gone before us. It was during heritage week. Thus the passageway was open while guarded by tour guides. The light outside was clear and shining through the skylight within providing an eerie illumination. Smaller uncapped monuments surround Cairn T like satellites.

There are cairns on surrounding hills as well mostly not accessible. You can see a mass rock outside and set aside cairn T. When you stand in front of it, with your back to it you see in the distance Lough Sheelin, Co. Cavan, Meath and Westmeath on a clear day. Your can view counties all around the cairn stretched out in greens dotted with cattle and sheep. There are hares living on the side of the hill to be easily spotted.
