Summary

Description
English: Springburn Public Halls Built as a gift to the residents, Springburn Public Halls were the centre of community life in the district before the arrival of the by-pass. This moved the primary shopping area to the location of the Springbrn Shopping Centre complex, and the building started its painful decline. One of the areas most beautiful building, carving on the south and east elevations show the importance of the railways to the town, but cutbacks by Glashow Corporation meant that the decline was sure and speedy. After closing, the Halls became a Sports Centre for a few years until the opening of a new Library and Leisure complex, and the building eventually closed due to safety issues.
