Summary

Description
English: Signal Tower, Dursey Island. The signal tower, said to be a relic of the defences erected during the Napoleonic wars, is here seen reflected in a small lochan on its western side. The Beara Peninsula stretches away to the east. From this spot on a glorious clear day we could look to the north, the east and the south and see what seemed like the whole of the south west corner of Ireland; the peninsulas reaching out into the Atlantic, one behind the other, gradually fading into the blue haze.
