Summary

Description
English: Runcorn and Latchford Canal A section of this canal still in water lies here by Eastford Road at Morley Common to the south of Warrington. The canal was opened in 1804 by the Mersey and Irwell Navigation to avoid difficulties on the Mersey in the Warrington area. The canal was closed with the construction of the Manchester Ship Canal in the 1890s.
