Summary

Description
English: Marrick High Mill and Dales Beck This lead smelting mill was built by Thomas Swinbourne in about 1660 and has been described (*) as "the best preserved 17th century lead smelting mill in Britain, and possibly in the world." The lead produced from the smelting would have been taken by packhorse to Stockton-on-Tees via Hartforth near Gilling.
