Description

Congleton Park — Bear Town, East Cheshire.

  • Congleton Park lies in a meander of the River Dane. Entry is from Mill Green, (where Old Mill used to be), Park Road, St Stephens and Buglawton.
  • It contains the remnants of Town Wood, ancient woodland mentioned in the Domesday survey of 1086, and handed over to the town in 1583.
Vista from Pavilion over formal gardens, with Monkey Puzzle Tree and drinking fountain.
