Summary

Description
English: Commercial End, Swaffham Bulbeck. The name Commercial End, which forms the northern part of Swaffham Bulbeck village, dates from the 18th century when Swaffham Bulbeck Lode was used as a commercial waterway. Giving access to the River Cam, it was no doubt a useful outlet for the agricultural produce of the district, but its use declined dramatically after the coming of the railway. As with many places that were once important, but have long since ceased to be, Commercial End has much fascinating surviving architecture including this charming terrace of cottages.
