Summary

Description
English: One of the Beaton Panels displayed in the National Museum of Scotland. The carvings, commissioned around the 1530s, are believed to have adorned the Cardinal's private apartments in St. Andrews Castle and been removed by his nephew and captain of the castle, John Beaton of Balfour. They were installed in the dining room of Balfour House near Markinch in Fife. The Museum describes them as "an outstanding example of late Gothic woodwork".
