Cape Disappointment is a headland on the west coast of Powell Island (south-east of Whale Skerries) in the South Orkney Islands, part of the British Antarctic Territory.

The headland was charted by the sealing captain George Powell on 13 December 1821, during his expediation with Nathaniel Palmer during which they discovered the South Orkney Islands. The name he chose probably refer's to Powell's and Palmer's reluctance to terminate their eastward cruise because of depleted provisions and unfavourable winds. The cape is so named on Powell's chart of 1822.

The cape was recharted by Discovery Investigations in 1933.
