Walton may be one of many towns and villages across Britain.

The name "Walton" is in each case from Old English and it is often assumed to mean "Welshmen's village" (Weala tun), suggesting a village inhabited by native Britons left amidst the incoming English tribes. However "forest town" (weald tun) and "wall town" (weall tun) and others have been suggested for some.
