Worcester CathedralThe Cathedral Church of Christ and the Blessed Mary the Virgin, of Worcester, commonly called Worcester Cathedral, is the cathedral of the Diocese of Worcester and the seat of the Bishop of Worcester. It stands magnificently in the heart of the City of Worcester, in Worcestershire, above the bank of the River Severn. Before the Reformation the cathedral was known as 'Worcester Priory'. It was built between 1084 and 1504, and over this spread of time it represents every style of English architecture from Norman to Perpendicular Gothic.
