Iona

Iona is a small island of Argyllshire within the Inner Hebrides, lying a short distance west of the Isle of Mull. Iona is world famous as the first centre of St Columba’s mission to bring the Scots and Picts to Christ, and the island remained a centre for monasticism until the Reformation.

The ruins of the Abbey were restored by the 8th Duke of Argyll in the nineteenth century and now serves the Church of Scotland as a centre receiving visitors for worship and reflection.
