Ballybay

Ballybay is a town in County Monaghan centred on a crossroads of regional roads. The town grew up from the convergence of the roads to Monaghan, Castleblayney, Carrickmacross and Clones. It is also built beside two lakes; Lough Major Lough Minor.

The name of the place in is from the Irish Béal Átha Beithe meaning 'The Mouth of the Ford of the Birches'. (Read more)
