Sgùrr Fhuar-thuill is a mountain on the border of Ross-shire with Inverness-shire, which reaches a height of 3,442 feet at its summit, and so it qualifies as a Munro.

The mountain is part of a group of four Munros which lie to the north of Glen Strathfarrar and east of Loch Monar.

Ascent

It is common to climb together the four Munros of the group in a single traverse; Sgùrr Fhuar-thuill, Sgùrr a' Choire Ghlais, Càrn nan Gobhar and Sgùrr na Ruaidhe. All are connected by a series of ridges and cols and may be done together in a day, or the tour of these may be split into smaller days. Sgurr Fhuar-thuill is the most western Munro of the group.

The summit appears rounded from the south but its northern face is steep and craggy as it is bitten into by two corries on either side of the summit. Sgurr Fhuar-thuill has two subsidiary tops Sgurr na Fearstaig further west on the ridge and Creag Ghorm a' Bhealaich further east along the summit ridge. The slopes to the south are grassy and much more accessible than those on the north.

Access is normally by the south ridge from the subsidiary peak Sgùrr na Fearstaig or from continuation along the main ridge the neighbouring mountain, Sgùrr a' Choire Ghlais. All routes will demand a long walk in, starting many miles east of the A831.
