Saltmarshe is a hamlet in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It originates as a township of the ancient parish of Howden, and has since 1935 formed part of the civil parish of Laxton. It is situated on the north bank of the River Ouse, which forms the border with the West Riding, approximately three miles south-east of Howden and 21 miles south-east from the county town of York.

The area is affluent, placed as the 10th most affluent in the country in a Barclays Private Clients survey,[1] and has one of the highest proportions of owner-occupiers in the country.[2]

Saltmarshe Hall is a Grade-II*-listed 19th-century country house on the western edge of the hamlet.[3]

Saltmarshe railway station is on the Sheffield to Hull Line. It is named after Saltmarshe, but is a mile to the north near the village of Laxton.
