Old Cwmbran also known as Cwmbran Village is a suburb of the New Town of Cwmbran, Monmouthshire.[1] The New Town is an amalgamation of the original villages of Pontnewydd, Llanyrafon, Croesyceiliog and Cwmbran.[2][3][4]

Village amenities

Despite being part of the much larger Cwmbran conurbation, Old Cwmbran retains many of the amenities of an independent village. The main high street has numerous shops and public houses. The area boasts a large Anglican church and a Roman Catholic church as well as a health centre and small supermarket.

Geographically, Old Cwmbran is all but merged with Llantarnam, as well as the adjacent New Town area of Southville and the Cwmbran New Town Centre. The latter is but a five minutes' walk away from the central village area.
