Millstreet is a town in the north of County Cork, with a population recorded as 1,555 in 2016.

The town stands at the foot of Clara Mountain.

About the town

The Green Glens Arena, an entertainment complex and large equestrian centre, is located in Millstreet. It has hosted a number of major events, including the Eurovision Song Contest 1993, with Millstreet being the smallest town to host the competition.[1]

The town's Roman Catholic church was built in 1833 and is dedicated to St Patrick.[2]

The town is on the MallowKillarneyTralee railway line. Millstreet railway station opened in 1853 and closed for some goods traffic in 1976,[3][4] was refurbished in the 1990s and remains open for passenger train services.
