The Middle Ward is one of the wards of Lanarkshire, forming the central part of the county. It is bounded to north-west by the Lower Ward; to the south-east by Upper Ward; to the north by the detached part of Dunbartonshire; to the north-east by Stirlingshire; to the east by Midlothian and West Lothian; to the south by Ayrshire; and to the west by Renfrewshire. The ward had a population of 506,182 in 2011.
