River Kelvin

The River Kelvin is a right-bank tributary of the River Clyde; entering the tidal Clyde in Glasgow after a course of twenty-two miles.

The Kelvin is a boundary river for most of its course. It rises in a moorland on the watershed between the east and west coasts. From Kilsyth near its source to Kirkintilloch it forms the border between Stirlingshire and the detached part of Dunbartonshire; then from the Park Burn to Killermont that between Stirlingshire and Lanarkshire; and from there to Kelvindale it forms the border of Dunbartonshire with Lanarkshire.
